OK, we need to keep this thread here of logistics. As in whose going, where are people meeting and trading numbers PMs and the like.

SO,

I can go, leaving from Richmond, Jeep and trailer in tow. Who want to meet up with me for a ride up?

Also, how do you guys handle the shuttling?

here's the trailer:

Tattooo and I are an almost garantee. Will be leaving from Va Bch. in his truck. may have room for one more, have to ask him about that. Due to the long drive, we will likely head up friday night and meet everyone in the morning, I just need to get directions to the meetup.

Richmond fellas, meet us at the Starbucks in C-ville at 8am on the 25th.

Tattooo and Noname, send me a PM when you two know what your plans are. That way I can send you diretions into town and meet up with you to show you where the cheaper places to stay are. You can leave your bikes and other crap at my place if you need to. Then we will meet up Saturday Morning and head out to Starbucks to meet up with the rest of the crew.

Any questions? :)

woody, can you bring thos pedals you mentioned. I've decided to just do it clipless.

03-18-2006, 10:36 PM
sk6, you may wanna wait until the second run to use clipless pedals. The occurence of trees is just enough to be annoying if you have to clip in and out. Once it's clear though, it's on like donkey kong

I'm in. See everyone at the Starbucks at Pantops. What time are we meeting there?
I can carry another rider & bike out to the Knob if necessary.

The Demo is back in the game, so I am going to come up PROVIDED the wife is cool with me taking off for the night a weekend before I go for ten days to the Sea Otter.

So I am pending approval from the 36-25-36 department.

Sorry guys, just realized this was next weekend and it is my weekend I have to work. I'm only off every other weekend

Anyways, I told Woody I'd bring the directions to him. I'm sure between the directions on paper and the fact that at least of few of you have been up this way, you will have no issues at all. I'm really bummed. I was really looking forward to meeting sk6, denjen, tattoo, noname and jaekor :(

Oh, Woody will have my cell number too so you all can contact me at work if you have any problems.

nice! What are you looking at for an upgrade?

I was thinking about those mavics you guys have, but wasn't sure which model they were. I wanted to find some reviews on them. I found a killer deal on a Deore/Rynolite combo but the Deore hub's are apparently total crap. Do you know the model of mavics you guys have at the shop?

This thread has gotten a little off topic. Just wondering who is in for the weekend? I am in. My buddy Wayne may have to work. I have a couple guys from south of Lynchburg that may try and make it.

Hopefully I'll be able to leave work early. Even if I do though, we won't be hitting the road any sooner than about 4:00. That's my goal. I'll have all my gear in my car so I can just meet you at your place after work.

it all depends on how much you are willing to pay for gas

denjen

who is giving rides to reddish?

Depending on how many people come form richmond I may be able to pick you up.

How are we looking for shuttle trucks? I have a 4 door chevy colorado, but it has the short bed. I can fit 3 bikes without to much problem not sure if I can do more than that. If we have two trucks we can put people in my truck and bikes in the other.

One other thing. How many runs did you guys get in last time?

VT Mtbkr
03-22-2006, 10:06 AM
I'm not going, maybe next time. I did get the shock off the new bike and am hoping to send it off today. I'll be riding poor farm on Sat. trying to get into some sort of shape to race XC in a month and not finish last.

That sucks. If you change your mind let me know, you can ride with me. You could always do a DH/XC ride with us.
Any word on how long the shock will take?

VT Mtbkr
03-22-2006, 11:18 AM
Sorry, just too much going on this weekend and with having to borrow a shock it's just too much trouble, next time count me in.
Looks like about 1-1/2 weeks to get it back, taking it apart was easy, putting it back together I'm going to need some help from Dart.

03-22-2006, 02:06 PM
Denjen, we got in 2 runs last time but I'm pretty sure that was only because I broke my seat and mud'n'sweat broke his der. on the second run. That and because we had to stop every 20 feet (not really but that's what is felt like) to climb over a log or through a pine tree...
This is of course if ya'll are doing the same trail we did right down from the parking lot on top. Have fun gents.

That and the fact the we stopped umpteen million times on our way for Woody to take a wiz. The man has the bladder of a 15 year old arthritis stricken muskrat.

ps- 15 year old arthritis stricken muskrats are notorious for peeing uncontrolably.
