This winter is taking it's toll... My compulsive urge to ride has been thwarted by the weather (even though I live in California!). So, to ease the pain, I just bought an '04 Banshee Chap (because I need it) and a new '01 Dodge Dakota 4X4 Quad Cab. I'm ready to ride (and shuttle)!

I hope the rain stops soon...I'm going broke. I don't know how you guys do it in the northern states!

Is there a support group for this? :help:

it rains a lot over here in the east too.....so much that when the race schedule comes out we know in advance exactly which days it will rain for sure. just go ride in it....nothing more fun that wet roots and thick mud :thumb: oh wait, you get wet dust over tiny rocks out there.....i remember the fireroad-esque trails of socal, i prayed for rain once in a while ;)

nice truck, sure beats my '88 S-10....although it is paid for :oink:

Carefull with the truck. I LOVED my 4dr V8 Dakota but they have a weak front end. There was a HUGE recall on them a few years ago where the front wheels would just fall off. Make sure yours has been fixed. If you feel anything loose in the steering, take it in.

Lots of info about upgrades and weaknesses here;

Funny you should say that as I was on the freeway last week and saw a Dakota wheel fall off. This thread is getting twilight-zone-esque

Kanter: Thanks for the heads up on the front ball joint problem. I'm looking into it.

Manimal: I've tried riding in the rain before. My poncho flaps in the wind too much and my rubber boots just don't perform on my pedals. Besides that, there's the whole "mud" thing... it gets on my bugle boys. I just can't have that.
