I'm trying to replace my 03 talas r shock with a coil shock. It'll be on a trek liquid 20, with hopes of making it a bit more freeride-ish. Any suggestions would be awesome. thanks

That'd be a great fork, but I need a rear shock

I still think the 5th Element is a great coil over shock. I wouldn't touch the air version.
The Fox DHX is a great shock as well. Also, look into the DHX Air 5.0... I use that for free ride on my Nomad... and it works extremely well.

wait and save up for a better bike. you're riding well past what the bike was made for. plus it will sell better with an air shock marketed as a trail bike.

I've heard some rumors that suggest buying a 5th elly would not be very wise at this point.

try yanking a shock off a snowmobile and see if it fits your frame, if it does then you have gold.
J.K. Fox makes great products so give them a thought or two
