Well my local trail needs some rehab after the winter, and there is one section that is very promising that I wanted to fix up. It has a nice little flow, but I want to build on it. Right now it starts with a fast drop to gain speed, then about 4 rollers, a 20 yard straight, then a decent size left hand U shaped berm, into something that wants to be a step up, a couple more rollers and some flat. What I want to do is first cut back the ruthless blackberry bushes, then get the first set of rollers bigger, maybe two sets of doubles, the berm may need to be enlarged to get conserve speed, get the step up bigger (Turn into table?), and maybe add a couple more rollers to pump some speed for a fun sized table. This is actually a modest size project but I don't have any experience building any of this stuff, all I make is wedges in the snow. Suggestions on tools, forms, techniques ect. for each feature would be great.

just go play around. you have to make it fit with the speed you're carrying and the character of the trail. I mean, you probably dont want to go throwing up a steep ass six pack on a dh trail, etc.

Get a machete, flat square shovel, and a good pick and you'll be well on your way. it sounds like you already have it all planned out in your head.

McClouds are great for clearing new trail, and for resurecting a really old trail. I like shovels for doing trail work on an established trail.

Bobcat tractors do the trick. Mcleods if you don't want to spend that much money work great.
