Might be an obsolete design like the QR20, but it worked...

What is the point of this? Why all the hatred?

The question makes sense, is it posible to get one of the new OEM crowns, rather than spend all kinds of money on an aftermarket one. The poster didn't really word it as well as he could have, but I don't understand what the big deal here is.

it's obvious he means forged (as most Marz crowns are), just doesnt understand the terminology.

Kinda lame though, just cus something is updated, doesnt mean the previous is faulty. Under that logic, all last years stuff must suck...

That is just stupid and discourages a manufacturer from moving forward and continuing to improve their designs. I blame the internet. :)

Shades of horst link. The e-hype is getting crazy around here. There is another thread very similar about the turner move over on mtbr. People are giving the highline lots of **** and mr. turner himself comes in and lays the smack down on them.

Yep, in my opinion, it is a waste of time for him being in there explaining himself to people whose entire knowledge of suspension comes from magazine ads.
He should be in the back designing bad azz bikes like he has for over a decade.
But that is nature of the business these days. A bunch of misinformed blowholes talking out of ole toothless again and babbling on the internet can and does hurt your business.:nonono:

Faulty crown design, no. Poor crown design, yes.

Wow... Sometimes I wonder if companies in other industries get this same type of deal... For instance, did Yamaha get a bunch of people demanding new motorcycles when they put the aluminum frame into production? Hey, you guys changed the frame, mine must be faulty and needs to be replaced!!

How are the 2006 888 crowns different?

How are the 2006 888 crowns different?

They are complaining that the stock 05 crowns were tall, the new 06 ones are flat and somehow they think because they purchased a fork with tall crowns, they should be given lower ones.
What they should be given is a reality smack to the mouf.

This is SO stupid. Why did they buy the 05 fork in the first place if it was that tall?

"I bought a blue car last year, but now there's a pink version. Mine should have been pink too!"

Suckers!

The former, of course. You do understand the concept of former and latter, correct? :) :) :)
