hey all, I did one of the dh races out there, and tucky's pretty close to where i live so I was just thinking about heading out and riding around on non race weekends. Are there trails up in the hills that offer any longer descents? are the gates open for shuttling all the time? any better ideas for places to go?

The gate isn't open you have to hike it from there.

You can actually shuttle the backside of the mountain. This doesn’t eliminate the entire hike, but it cuts the road hike down a little bit. There is a gradual fire road hike and then up from the water tower.
