Just thought I'd ask....when you ride local trails or urban, do you wear a regular riding helmet or do you wear a full-face?

I only wear a full face for DHing or BMXing, otherwise it's just a Pro-Tec for DJing and street

full face always for downhill and most of the trails i do. hitting a tree at 35mph+ can do some major damage

i wear regular lid when doing urban... mostly for visibiality though. it's hard to see what you're doing on some of those slow speed tricks or tech stuff.

pretty much i wear my full face when on the big bike, and the regular lid when on my hardtail. because i do take the big bike to do urban sometimes (big stair gaps or whatever)

Regular lid for almost everything. Fullface for when I'm on a real DH/FR trail, riding with people who will test my limits, or just riding beyond my own limits [no other way to progress].

I use my fullface for DH. For DJ, street, and Xc trails, I use a half face.

I used to ONLY wear my full face for racing. I would hit all the sick local dh trails, 14 foot drops etc. on my skid lid, probobally wasn't the greatest idea. I just bought a D2 which is alot more comfortable, breathable an lighter than my previous full face so I will be wearing that alot now. Buy a good full face, and you will want to wear it.

Now that I think about it that was pretty crazy that you did the widow in a skid lid:p I usually wear a skate lid at my local DH trail (pretty mellow), sometimes I break out the full-face though

Heck, I wear my full face helmet all the time. Im wearing it right now. Where the heck did I put my glasses....... Ok, now Im ready.;)

I have been thinking about a regular helmet but after seeing a guy at Fernie spitting out hit teeth, I wear a full face. Wearing a hot full face is a small price to pay for protecting your teeth, face, and EYES.

DH and FR I will always wear my full face, but for XC I go with my standard lid because a full face is too much and too hot for XC. Now as far as urban goes.... it depends on how aggessive and hairy the riding will be but for most of the time I will go standard.

there's nothing really in Richmond dirt-wise that gets to big, so regular lid works for me. the reason I ask is that I see a lot of people post local urban pics or smaller type trails in the off-season and many wear they're full face...

Full face for everything I do. I've hit my head too many times to do any differently. And I've seen the results of others who decide to wear DJ lids.

Probably the only time I wouldn't do it is on an XC ride, but I don't ride XC (for lack of a bike...).

I ride full face on my DH bike when I shuttle most of the time

I ride a XC helmet for trail rides and occasional DH rides

I ride a skate helmet for urban and dj

Full face for DH most of the time. If its just a little shuttle I will wear a skate lid. Otherwise its a skate lid all the time.

full face to dh/fr/most urban (the more crazy stuff).

regular but xc/raod/trials/ and the other urban.

the full face is safer for sure but for a lot of thing not needed and will get in the way.

Yeah it probably wasn't the best idea, but it worked.

i used to wear a fullface for only DH, and a skate helmet for trail and freeride. then, as it started getting to be 100 degrees on some DH trips, i started wearing my skate lid for DHing (luckily my face is still intact). this past fall i was freeriding in nam with my skate helmet when i cased a drop and hit face first, thus making me look like i got the **** kicked out of me for a week.

since then i got a D2 Carbon that i wear for everything, and threw my skate helmet in my closet.
