Did my first ride in VA

On Sunday I hit one of the local trails, a 5 mile loop that has some good technical and fast downhill sections. The uphill stuff kicked my ass because I'm from Florida and not used to this. The downhill parts were awesome even though I was being shaken to hell on the P1. I figured if I went faster I'd skip over some of the bumps. :) The Pike rocks, I think I may tweak it between the climbs and downhill part next time though. I have a Magura Julie on the front and the stock Hayes conventional disk on the rear which I might swap for another Julie just to have consistent brake feel. Luckily I didn't get to test my helmet or armor. Even though my entire body hurts I'm going back next weekend.

I'm in Va Beach. I don't think I'm good enough yet to ride with other people. Maybe if we were just going downhill and jumping stuff. :)

well there is ridetoofast, another guy, and me in the VA beach area.

you should really post in the VA forum. that is where all the other va people post and we accutaully get alot of rides going, anywhere from xc , to dj, to dh/fr stuff most all year round.
