need something new

ok i really need a new bike. i ride basicially all xc (some drops and jumps that come with it) and road because i like to ride to the trails round my house that are 10 er so miles away. i would like to spend under 800 dollars. idk if i can find a nice full suspension bike for this or if i need to go hardtail. do i need F/S or is hardtail fine. just some suggestions or maybe someone has something used

With the amount of road riding you'd be doing, I'd look for a hardtail. Reason being is that you probably wont find an FS bike w/ a lockout for under 800 bills.

Under 800? Maybe a haro or something....better off getting a nice top of the line hardtail.

for the price your looking at you could get a lot nicer hard tail, that would give you more life than a fully. Also for the type of riding it sounds like your doing a fully doesn't seem needed.

im with them. theres no chance of getting a good fs under $800 new. you could search ebay but i dont think thats very reliable. you should definatly go for a nice hardtail. and if you want the kush of a fs then maybe go for a suspension seatpost.

I'd pick up a Giant XTC for $1000. I wouldn't ride a FS bike for less than about $1700, too many compromises.
