dead motherboard

i took my computer to the doctor and he said i have a dead motherboard. he offered to replace it and i said i would wait. is he bs-ing me about the dead mother board, or is it a common problem?

the computer is an asus m600 or m6000

i looked online and i could get a new one for about 200 bucks. should i have the guy install it, or should i try to do it.

Its possible your motherboard is dead.

When did you buy it? Is it still under warranty - if so get it fixed for free by Asus...
