I recently picked up a 2002 Shiver DC. I was wondering what owners of the fork think of it. Good or bad, let me know...thanks!

i have a 2002 shiver DC as well. The fork is great. I rode it full time for just over a year, with no problems at all. I ride a lot of big gaps and drops. It handles 20+ foot drops with ease. It feels great on the downhill to. I thought it was the best fork i had ridden by far, untill i got a DH40.

I have an '02 as well, and rode it right up until this season, when I picked up an Avy. The Shiver was still going strong, too, I just got too good of a deal to pass up on the Avalanche.

Awesome, do-it-all fork. One thing to watch out for is a bit of play when it's fully extended. Easy, easy, easy fix though.

Is a great fork.
If you don't like its so spongy feeling in compression, just change the oil to a 15W

yeah downhiller all shivs are the same inside. but the 01s didnt have the bleed screw that all the others have. other than that there all the same. btw im running an 01 and shes kinda scratched but other than that runnnin like a charm

My friend has a black '05. It takes so much abuse. He downhill/frs it and also "urban frs" (20 stairs to flat kind of stuff- hahahahaha). It runs great. its on a scott high octane (7-9.5" rear), it was meant for that bike.

but they are no longer making the shivers for north america, so if you want a SC or a DC, you better jump on it faster than fat bastard on a hamburger.

I ahve the same fork and might I say it is the best fork I have ever owned. It owns on pretty much everything but XC racing ;)

Ive got an 02 and i love it to death. Its plush, reliable, and very smooth down the mountain and on the trails. I might soon be buying an 02 single crown to match it for my specialist.

i have an 02 on my canfield. put heavy springs and 15w oil in it (i weigh 225) and have never touched it in 3 years! 2 seasons of racing, 5 whistler trips, shuttles nearly every weekend.. big drops w/a fattass like me poundin' the sh#t out of it. best fork ever! thought about getting a 888, but why? used to think it was quite flexy(again w/the fattass thing) but i took off my diobolus stem an put on the integrated marz. stem, seemed to cure that prob.

i love my shivers, they are awsome, best thing compared to alot of other triple crown forks is that they hav such a wide turning capability.

Great fork.190mm of travel. Super plush.
Only thing i don't like is those itty bitty bleed screws I know motocross bike forks have an aftermarket screw-in little valve called PRO-Bleeders where you screw those in & just push it on top like a buttom to bleed...!!!

The owner of Re:Cycles bike shop in Greensboro runs an '05 on his Banshee Scream, and it kicks ass. Soaks up everything and takes a thorough beating.

Just bought a 2002 because i always wanted to try one. Was able to tune the compression perfect after just one ride, rebound externally adjustable. I've been running a 888 but the Shiver is plusher and feels lighter and easier to maneuver so I'm putting the 888 up for sale. Good fork, but the shiver just feels too good in comparison.

Marz told me 10w tops or you risk blowing up the damper.
I love mine but it needs new bushings.

The only thing lame about them is running the front brake cable correctly. The way they have it set up is crap. Once that is set up, the forks are fantastic! I love my '05 Shivers!

Only bad thing about the shiver is its not progressive and quite heavy but if you don't race all the time its perfect.
