just pull up when you come off the lip and push down on your pedals while leaning back. Go to a bmx track and practice it on the tables there, since theyre kind of designed for that.

Its not really hard, I can step-up to manual better than I can manual on flat ground. Just go up the lip, and keep your weight back, and before you hit the ground, push your back tire down.

But mainly its all practice, like everything else in Mountain Biking.

Try manualing to a curb and then hopping up to attempted manual. It's a small step, but learn on that. Once you hop up, make sure you are positioned farther back on the bike than you think you need to be and it will actually be just right. You'll practice enough to realize what I'm saying here because you'll tend to set the front down a lot. Good luck and keep a finger on those rear brakes just in case!

Talk to mbfanatic on here. He can hop onto a 1' 30'long bench and almost easily manual it.
