View Full Version : Patching a tire while using Stan's

I did a little jump and a huge hiss came out my rear tire (a slightly used Motoraptor) through a hole in the tread. I was riding urban and I had set the pressure to 45-50 psi. It held air, but I went to the gas station for another pump up and it started hissing again. But it did hold most of the air, but I am worried another drop at any psi will deflate the tire.

Do I need to patch my tire? Or was the pressure too high to begin with (I run about 35psi for trail)? And will Stan's affect the patch glue?

And here is a dunce question: do I use a regular patch if it needs it?

I'd patch it. Yes, use a regular patch. On a side note, I don't believe the Stan's stuff will plug a hole at a pressure higher than 40 psi, FWIW.
