This is the first time I'm going to the mt. snow national. From the footage I've seen, it seems like I should be fine with a michelin comp. 16 front and comp 24 in the back?

I also have a comp 32 and another comp 24.

Well, I've never ridden there but I've been a spectator there a few times. Are you riding the sport or exp course? The 16/24 combo might work for either (2.5 I hope!) but on the ex course you might be better off with the 32. That's what I would do. I plan on running a Kenda Nevegal 2.5 rear and 2.7 front.

I'm riding the expert course. Yea the comp 16/24 are both 2.5.

take the 32 and the 16...you may wind up putting the comp 16 on back and the 32 up front.

I'll be on the Sport course and running 2.5 Nevegals F & R.

I'll be running 2.7 Minion F front and rear. Or maybe 2.7 Minion F front, 2.7 Highroller rear. One of the two. With the speed you get up to, wouldn't want anything smaller...

edit: that's for the expert, sport you should be perfect with a 2.5...

Both courses are pretty highspeed and rough. I like something w/ higher volume and good shoulder knobes. I'm running a 2.7 Highroller in front and a 2.5 Mobster in back for ex.

The sport course was used for a local series this summer and is a blast.

I would go 2.7 front and 2.5 rear of whatever brand.

Guys like Kovarik run dual 2.7s.

Which doesn't seem like a terrible idea if you're hard on stuff. I have a nice pic of him railing a corner with a flat rear tire.

Highspeed moto vs lots of pedaling for through the woods. Your trading lung burn for arm pump. The top is fairly stepp with some very steep sections. Lost of rough fire-road width stuff but deff not a road! The yardsale is steep as hell and scary and comes at the veyr bottom when you are the most tired. The Yardsale is the most demanding section of course that I have ever ridden.

it doesn't. different...imagine riding down a ski slope the whole way that is a giant boulder covered in grass and moss at 25-30+mph. We call it "mystery rock"

Run a Comp 24 with the inner knobs cut out and a 2.2 comp 16 on the rear if on a dry curses. You will get less rolling resistance from the 24 than the 32. That is a high speed course, you will want that. Turn the 16 backwards so the peddles will dig in under braking. That way you can wait a little longer to brake going into the wood sections.

Big tires unless you want to flat. I typically run 2.7 front and rear there.

2.7 front and rear, and let it the F out in the grass.

I'm starting of with c32 front a 2.5 swampthing out back. I might switch to a 2.5 highroller outback if it gets dusty. I can't justify buying another c32 for the back, but if I had the cash I sure as hell would.
