All you needed was a top 10 finish at a qualifier. I got mine by finishing 8th at Sea Otter ;) Although I'm not going. :o:

Yeah top 10 at an AMBC, State Championhip, NMBS, or an Alison Dunlap Jr race.

I'm qualified? Huh, news to me

Took 5th at an AMBC race, so I guess I can go to Mammoth. I don't have an annual lisence though, do you need one to race Mammoth?

Yeah, you need one, but last year they let you buy one at the event. I think since it was so late in the year...well.. the end of the year they were selling them for $25 as opposed to $60 or what ever they usually cost. Howz it goin, Noah?

I got invited as well and I've done nothing but race beginner...is this like one of those "YOU'VE WON A FREE IPOD" things; where you are invited but subject to qualification, see details inside...

Interesting. I'm toying with going now. I didn't want to throw away $60 to NORBA liscensing for one damn race (two for the season!) $25 sounds do-able though..

Its going pretty good Chris, aside from stacking pretty hard on Sunday :nopity: :D

If i remember right they said they are not going to do that this year. I THINK you only need an annual lic if your Expert or above, but i could be wrong on that one. Also don't forget.

Riders will be required to show proof of United States citizenship at race packet pickup and on-site race registration. Proof of citizenship may be a copy of the rider's birth certificate or copy of the rider's passport.

Weird, I have a 3rd and 6th finish so far this year at a Norba event, maybe they don't send them off to sport riders?

It depends on what class you qualify out of, if you qual in one and move up you'll still be listed in the lower one. From what i understand you are allowed to race down if you qual then move up. So if you sport and you move up to Expert at the end of augest, qualed as a sport but not an Expert you can race the sport race.

I went last year and raced Sport....it was pretty fun!! The Expert course was a combo of Gnar and dumb, but my Ex racer friends liked the event a lot too. We slept in the Pit parking lot in our rigs for free and everything ran smooth except my bike.

wasn't the Cal-State championship a qualifier for Mammoth? I placed in the top 10, but my name is not on the list. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to get to any of the NORBA nationals, but was planning to race in Mammoth...I wonder who I need to contact.

Is there anyone else whose name is missing, from the Cal-State race?

No there are only certain ones that are. The Cal state race was one. Actually it was top 15 there. I think NORBA is behind on the list. I know the 4x list doesn't have the DV national into added yet.

Have the races used the Norba age groupings? if they combines cats then they have to break out the results by the norba age groups. Like at the Cal state race they used Donnies groupings which are 2 norbas pre groups. So you could have been outside the top 15 and still gotten a qual spot if guys from the other age grouping were in front of you.

I wonder if its because they mix Pro/Semi at most races here......maybe i was top 10 semi........or they are just inviting everyone..

Also, Master Semis use to be able to race in their age group at NORBA Finals to race for the age-group national championship.......

That's kind of what I was thinking, but it looks like they have updated it with the riders who qualified in Brian Head...
