winter racing/riding in cali

I'm thinking about moving to cali for the winter. to ride and race then coming back east for the summer.
first of all do guys have winter dh races? if not where can i find some?
should i search elsewhere
any recomendations for a specific area with good riding and cheap rent over the winter?

yeah theres winter races in fontana, check southridgeusa.com for details. and yeah theres alotta places with good riding here. but you gotta look round for cheap rent

Southridge puts on a great winter series. In addition, KHS is putting on a race series at Bootleg Canyon, in Boulder City, NV. If you've never ridden Bootleg Canyon, it is a blast. It has some of the craziest downhill runs and one really wild dirt jump park. I think the race series will take place in November.
