Manitou Sherman Firefly Question.....

For some reason my firefly won't lock out in the "shorter travel position" anymore. I suck at climbing, so I love this feature!

Slugman said that he had the same problem on his Sherman and adjusted the "lever" and it fixed the problem. Tried it on mine to no avail.....

Anyone had this problem? Was it hard to fix? How did you do it?

could either be broken 'dog ears' or somehow the shaft untwisted itself??

best thing is to call up manitou, they have good help.

MikeT has the problem right: the dog ears are either broken or the travel adjuster isn't setting itself properly. The fastest attempt at a solution is to unbolt the adjuster knob, and move it one "slot" in each direction to see if that fixes it. Not sure if that's what you meant by adjusting the lever.

That's what happened to mine, and moving the adjuster knob fixed it.

You can also try visiting the Manitou website as they had a walkthrough for fixing the Sherman travel adjuster when it stopped working. I believe it was right in the user manual. Note that if you have broken dog ears, there's nothing you can do and you need to have the adjuster replaced.
