and Chili's.
My favorite burgers are the ones I concoct and grill myself tho'.
we were outside of Granby, CO a couple of years ago on some backroad headed to Fruita from RMNP & saw these signs for a burger joint advertising elk & buffalo burgers so we stop in this tiny town & the place is what I imagine burger joints in the '50s were like, it was so cool. I got an Elk Burger that kicked ass, it might have been the best burger ever. I wish you could get an elk burger here. It was so lean & tasty. It also came with cottage fries. That was another new one to me, but they rocked too. so I guess it would be the place in po-dump Colorado.
but locally...it would have to be Huey's although I think ground beef is nasty.

Was it an old wooden hotel-ish looking place on the south side of the road? Just a bit past the turn to get to I-70? I'm pretty sure I've been there. :thumb:

I get buffalo flanks and ground buffalo here in NY from a farm in PA. They kick major league ass and I like them better then beef. But they don't always have it fresh and it is about $1 a pound more expensive. I tried Elk too and it was awesome but not readily available here.
The best burger is ground angus beef from the local IGA. $3.69/lb and tasty as all get up. I eat them grilled rare and plain as my secondary protien source.

Word. Rare and plain is the way to go. Don't try to fancy them up by adding a bunch of
sh*t. Just salt and pepper, stand back and let nature have her way.

My favorite is the Munchbox in Chatsworth, CA. Their chiliburgers are a lot better than Tommy's.

Nothing is as good as doing it yourself over a open fire. But as far as chains go, I would say you can get a decent burger at the Outback, Pub99, and Cracker Barrel. Fast food burgers generally = :stosh:

hmmm...I've never in my life had a (what is supposed to be) beef fast food burger. I'll eat the Chubby Chicken Burger from A&W or the Spicy Chicken from Wendy's, but thats it. I'll eat the homemade ones, though...

Hey just cause you have ten times as many posts as me doesn't mean I lack the true life experience to determine which burger is better, and I say McDonalds can put a burger together.

In and out OR Hamburger Habbit (only in so cal I think). Bacon burgers are grub :)
In and Out is popular because it's open later than the others, burgers are fresh cooked (which is key) and their fries are fresh. Their menu may be simple but it's worked for them for years, so let it be.
The Habbit is yummy too, burgers are more of a "chared" style but similar to In and Out, except they add bacon and what not to them. They have sandwhiches and salads too that aren't too bad. Milkshakes are probably the best out of a fast food joint here in town.
Any place that has to cook the meat, from pink to done, fresh toppings, good buns, and fresh fry's works for me! I don't really like the mass hamburger places (burger king, mcdonalds, wendy's etc...) that often, but sometimes that's what you gotta have.

Mediterranian burger from Utopia in Toronto. Homemade garlic dill mayo, sauteed onions, plenty of feta...bliss on a bun. For fast food though, Swiss Chalet actually makes a pretty good bacon cheeseburger.
