So I have some contaminated pads, and dont really want to spend $20 for new ones. :dead: I've heard putting them in the dishwasher, or oven, will burn/wash off the contamination. Will this work? If the oven does, how many degrees and how long should they be in for? Thanks.

I guess you could try baking them, pads get real hot on descents, so maybe just go ride down a mountain. Then it wouldn't void any warranties, or poison any food.

This works for me:
Get some isopropyl alcohol. Not your gramma's! Go to a drugstore and get some that is at least 99% pure. (read the label here)
The diluted 80% crap has perfume and mineral oils in it. Bad news.
Drop your pads in a small, VERY CLEAN, stainless steel container. A small mixing bowl works.
Pour in some alcohol, light on fire.
Clean the rotors the same way.
Wipe down with a paper towel and more alcohol after they cool.
Ride on.

I boiled my pads in some water with dishsoap for about 1hr (simmered atleast)
and that seemed to work
