A couple of my friends and I want to take a trip up north to do some drinking at the bars and hanging around. We're 18. will they give us a hard time if they know were from the us? Were gonne be heading to Montreal. Also, whats our best bet for cheaap places to stay downtown? thanks.

We never got a hassle because we were 'Merikans.

One thing - do *NOT* drink and drive. We had to run through several DUI checkpoints when we would go to CN drinking and camping.

Yeah, I have never had a problem because I was American. There are quite a few hotels downtown...I think the Days Inn was pretty inexpensive. Check out hotels.com or something like that.

Definately try some of the Unibroue brews while you're up there :drool: They are SO good!!! http://www.unibroue.com/english.cfm

we diss mericans all the time but note...we welcome you cats like brothers with open arms yo.

the beer in Montreal is strong. 6.8 is the minimum so that makes your yankee ales props.....sort o like de-caf.
Brador and Laurentide will get ya snapped after 2.
must do>>>>>>a deli. nates...dunns etc all are great delis.
and Quebec sugar pie for desert.

enjoy people Montreal is a partytown. Bars stay open till 3:30 or later and expect to have an outstanding stay with the greatest of foods available.

one last deal ....most NB>>>try to speak french. even if you sound like a twit they will embrase you for it. Talk english and expect the worst.read off the menu as best yuou can. They will like it.
