View Full Version : Fragging a fellow soldier is okay????
WARD CHURCHILL, PROFESSOR, UNIVERSITY OF COLORADO: For those of you who do, as a matter of principle, oppose war in any form, the idea of supporting a conscientious objector who's already been inducted and in his combat service in Iraq might have a certain appeal. But let me ask you this: would you render the same support to someone who hadn't conscientiously objected, but rather instead rolled a grenade under their line officer in order to neutralize the combat capacity of their unit? Conscientious objection removes a given piece of cannon fodder from the fray. Fragging an officer has a much more impactful effect.
He said it at a forum about conscientious objection. I wish I had a better source but it either comes from conservative sites that want him killed or liberal sites that want him sainted.
The one thing I saw that really peaked my interest, but can't find it now, was the outrage on a site that has in the past voiced "understanding" of those that kill abortion doctors.

Who cares what WARD CHURCHILL (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ward_Churchill) or N8 says about anything?

I had him for several classes back a CU, way back in the day. Such an f-ing moron. Once told me, the lone white guy in the Indian Studies/Lit class, "YOU need to give back my land!". After replying "only after you give back my smallpox infected blankets" he nearly decked me.

Did you know then that he was white?

What's fragging? Sounds like something Shirley might do to a dolphin.

Frag is a computer game term meaning 'kill'.
e.g. "I have 84 frags R0x0rs!111!!"

It satisfied a core requirement and there are some great Indian writers. I also took a Churchill class focusing on Indian films which was cool, everything from John Ford westerns to small independent films. He teaches cool subjects if you can stand his rantings.

Goes back further than that. They used the term in Vietnam as well. It meant killing an officer, with a grenade usually.
