My buddy is looking and needs a medium demo 8 frame. Anyone who has them in stock?

My LBS can order one... doubt that helps you any. I'm sure any specialized dealer can though, as I am pretty sure they are in stock.

I checked with Specialized, and there are plenty of mediums left. Any Spec/Ed dealer can order one have it in 5 days.

You're welcome.

Yep. Remember that it comes with a ti spring, so you might be able to finagle something where you forego the ti spring and take ~200 off that frame price.

Which the shop could put on another bike and raise that bike's price $200? Or maybe the shop owner with all his free time will sell it on Ebay?

You could try to negotiate the price, especially if no labor is involved. But switching springs is not a great way to lower the price of a bike.

Not what I meant. The bike comes with a waiver which you then send in to get the ti spring of your choice (proper spring weight based on weight). This is also valid for a Demo 9 or indeed any shock of the proper size. This waiver represents a roughly 200 dollar value- if you have a good relationship with your shop and price is a big issue im sure something could be worked out.
