View Full Version : Jumping on an AC

So I've just started jumping my bike a bit more, and I notice that on my AC (swinger 4 way and super t) I get very little pop off the lips of jumps and tend to fly fairly low. This has limited my inclination to try any bigger doubles for fear that I will land on my face.
My question is, what is the reccomended shock setup for jumping, particularly from other AC owners? I was basically running the setup I use for drops the day I went by the jumps - probably not ideal. Any advice would be much appreciated.

stiffen up ur shocks. crack up ur preload and paltform on the rear and ur jr T has air preload, use it. idealy you want 5-15% sag to get as much pop as you can, and still be rideable. also pull back ur rebound. i jump my big hit spec with a 700 lbs spring and a jr T pumped to match. you will not get all the pop of a ht but if u come up short, or long that 6" is there to save u. the ac sould be nice once you set it up because it's so light, but if u get serious, get a ht.

I have an AC and when I jump it I run the rear shock on 4" and like the man said, I dial the spring pretty hard. Keep your rebound and compression (front and rear) pretty low so you can preload the shocks and get the bounce back. Full sussers will always make jumping harder, but they are also more forgiving on landings. Just run it stiff and with little damping, especially on the back. Some people like a little more damping on the front.

I would stiffen it alot but leave the rear a little slower and softer so you can preload.

you should either tighter your springs or get heavier or tighter springs.. i jump on my front springs hard to get a better lbounce off the lip
