Im tired of this crap. Pulling over for funerals to pass, having rednecks yell at me for my "Pee on #3" Earnhardt sticker...dead people dont care: Theyre dead. They cant even think. Im tired of it. Whose up for some grave tipping or necrophilia?

Well, pulling over for funerals is just a way to not be a total asshole to the living. You're right, the dead person doesn't care.
You actually have people yell at you for that sticker?

If I were you I might consider buying a few extra windows...also most rednecks tend to pack guns, so be careful...

[QUOTE=BurlyShirley]. "Pee on #3" Earnhardt sticker......[QUOTE]
bwahahahaha! i had my own stickers on my old truck. "dale who?" and "rednecks are dumb" (confederate flag lined out). i made a lot of friends with those stickers down here in n. cackalaky. but im not too worried about armed rednecks as i'm usually more heavily armed and better trained than they are :D :devil:
i've been wanting some new stickers for the truck i have now and yours sounds perfect.
i'd like to have one made that says: "NASCAR: The special Olympics of Auto Racing"

HAHAHA, thats funny.
on the other hand regarding the 1st part of your post... i was wondering something i guess you, being a cop, would know better than me...
when psychos and other people in the US walk around armed with a knife or a gun... do they usually challenge you to a duel giving you all the opportunity to take out your gun and to defend yourself in a fair pistol/knife duel??? or do they just take advantage of their weapon and surprise and hit you at once without warning?? :think:
if the 2nd is true (which in my experience, is true in SA), does having overwelming firepower over your adversary makes any difference??

hmmm, responding to this w/out going into a discertation on tactics is going to be difficult...but i'll try.
here's the way i see it. action is faster than reaction. if a bad guy really wants to kill me he can just set up a simple ambush and catch me off guard. those types of situations are pretty much indefensible.
i'll usually know or suspect that a person is carrying a weapon long before he's able to draw and fire. that's why we're always screaming to "let me see your hands" in certain situation. no one ever challenges you to a "dual" and even if they did i wouldn't accept the challenge just for the sake of the challenge, there would have to be lives at stake.
the most common "shoot or don't shoot" scenario is the "suicide by cop" person who will come out w/ guns blazing knowing that we're going to take him/her out. but again, we usually have enough info to at least be ready for it to happen.
as far as overwhelming firepower to win a situation..well...you're only as good as your training. however, if the challenge arises....i'll usually have more than 1 option for returning fire :D
so to sum up...if some punk/thug/redneck decides he wants to try and shoot at me while in my car he better be a better shot than me 'cause i've trained at shooting at and from a moving car, i seriously doubt they have. :devil:

I'm guessing Alexis' point wasn't directed at law enforcement officers, but your average joe with a CCW (or with a gun and without the CCW). You as an officer generally have more of an awareness when you're going into a situation...you're generally responding to a call. Like you said, though, if a random psycho wants to ambush you, well, you're pretty much screwed.
Average Joe doesn't know when the situation will go from normal to life-threatening, and frankly it's not very likely for him. Does that mean he shouldn't be permitted a CCW? I'm not going to say; average joes with CCW don't bother me so much as criminals with guns. But I'm not likely to knowingly encounter either one.
