How come you see so many wall rides going from right to left and not the other way around?
Take for example this wallride being built at Plattekill:

For me left to right feels more natural. And the opposite sketches me out. The same goes for hip jumps. I can't figure out how to hip to the left. I ride left foot forward. I'm betting that has something to do with it.
Any thoughts?
the whistler wall ride is opposite.....
i hear ya on hip jumps. I tend to corner both ways fine on the ground, but in the air my body refuses to loosen up....leading to right hand hips not working well.....

i totally agree with you guys about the hip jump thing. Thats why i went and built one turn top the right *my unnatural side). A few crashes later and i'm finally getting the proper feel in the air.

I ride left foot foreward
On a 1/4 pipe I carve to the right from the left. I wallride from the right to the left.
ya i agree right to left is easier but i can handle oppisite too

its all personal, everyone has a natural direction and natural stance (which foot forward)

I go to the left. If I try hard to the right I'll probably level myself out on the ground. Left is natural for me, always has been.
Most people ride right foot forward I thought.

I am right handed. On a board, Im goofy (right foot in front). On a bike I jump with right pedal/foot ahead. I can only do hips where you go straight and the landing is ahead to the right. I am trying to learn the other way. On a snowboard, I have gotten really good at riding fakie (backwards).
That's great, I prefer left... seems like besides Rays they always seem to go the wrong way for me. Whistler's went right and I chickened out :(

i ride right foot forward and i do best with right to left hips and walls, i think because my left foot is back and i can use it to swing the bike around. like the guy above, i built a L2R hip and pratice on that, now since that's the only hip at my house, im better L2R. on tight wall rides/quater/halfpipes i still go R2L. ive tryed switching feet but it threw me off, i think i should try that one more tame stuff first. but whats weird is on a snowboard im regular (left foot forward) and i hip and spin best L2R but wallride, like on a bike, R2L.

I am a left foot forward guy, and I can corner much better turning left. As for quarter pipes, wall rides and hip jumps, I turn to the right.................does that make me a little f'ed up?
I ride left foot forward and can hip from right to left better than the other direction. As far as wall-rides, meh I just avoid em cause I can't do em.

There is a theory in road cycling that most crashes occur to your right side. Obviously, if that is the case, you want to ride with the right side up.
Even though all of my road crashes are on my right side, my last wall ride was from left to right.
