Yes, - just for the fun of it. I tried a friend's Super Monster on a Scream the other day. I was actually very surprised. I anticipated an extremely heavy fork almost impossible to use...but I was wrong. It was no problem lifting the front when dropping and landing was of course super smooth. Very slack, but with 24" wheels making it ok geometry. The guy using it is bottoming it out regulary (doing big NS stunts), but as you can imagine it can take a beating.
I ride an MTN-8 with 26" wheels myself and his bike did not seem heavier. All in all a funny and nice expereice which made me revaluate my very negative impression of the SM fork.....this fork is NOT stupid, but a really, really funny ride when just making drops and having fun.... :D

Since they do not produce it anymore it cant be much. I guess most people critizising it have never ever tried it.....but I had fun....

Glad you had fun, but you mean to say you didn't notice 4 extra pounds on the front of the bike? If so, to me your review doesn't mean much.

Now remember that it was not a bike for racing...we were just having fun and the weight did not seem to be a big problem compared to other heavy forks. Of course I am not comparing this fork to a race fork, - I am just saying that it was not as heavy as I had expected. I know that many people start complaning if you had half a pund to their bike.....and it is ok.....
By the way....it should not be perceived as a review, - just wanted to tell that I did not think it was so bad (-8

A couple of pounds aint nothin
mabey u guys just need to get a little stronger hehe.
besides when your racin downhill you want gravity to help u out goin down the hill and more weight does a better job at that. Plus I feel more in control of a bike that weighs more. (could be the MX in me but whatever, to each his own

Not really...it is of course a tall fork, but it rode nicely and setup with 24" wheels it was not as odd as I had expected.

The super monster can be okay, if used in the proper manner, but when I saw one on a p.2 in nantucket last weekend I was just thinking wtf? If anyone dosn't know what nantucket is like you won't get it. It is a small island off the coast of massachusetts, there are no trails, just roads, and mansions, and water. There is no where you could use even 2 inches of that travel. I asked the shop guy where someone whould ride a bike like that on the island, and he said anywhere, all over the streets.
I brought my bighit there, and I was thoroughly bored. We had to build jumps just to get in the air a little.

super monsters are cool i guess but whatev. if you have smaller travel it just means it takes more skillz is all
