I am wondering if any kids/groms/teenages/young adults are going to the snowshoe downhill camp this summer. I am not too sure what age group it will mainly be, but I am 15 and I plan on going.

I doubt many groms read this board anyway..........

yes, he did the pallet drop like three times. And as for the hardtail thing, that is just a cheap way out of it. I hit that drop over and over again my hardtail yesterday. And wash your gloves.

Ahahaha, somebody just got told. For the record though Buck's talking about the jump at the top with the pallat landing, the one that was completely changed and made 5 feet shorter, so even if i wanted to hit it now i couldnt. And as for the big bike thing, Buck I though you were too 'core for a big bike. I seem to remember hearing you say that no one needs full suspension and everything could be done on a hardtail...? You even said that if you went to Whistler you'd buy a DC fork for your hardtail instead of renting one of their full squishes. Oh and you really do needta wash your gloves, and your grips becasue of your gloves for that matter...

Oscar, check out the snowshoe website, on the camp page it says that there will be a complimentary shuttle to and from the airport

I will be at the first camp. I am 15, I ride a haro but will be renting a bighit or stinky. I really want to rent the demo 9 as a downhill bike, but the freeride category is much cheaper, so that is what I have to go with.

O well,
Craig

does snowshoe have dirt jumps? Like a set of trails not just the trail like a-line and the 4x coarse?

haromtnbiker
05-26-2005, 07:52 PM
Nope, not unless they are new since last year. The mountain cross course is huge though, and super fun. The new power-line trail should be sweet also.

Escape: What does (I am clueluss) does cpj stand for?

aparently you've never seen the MTX course. $20.00 says you won't do everything on your hardtail!

Seriously, this thing is like godzilla! It's so fast a big that DH bikes can be competitive on it. You won't get bored.

And there is also a skatepark, with like 4 tiny doubles next to it.

haromtnbiker
05-26-2005, 09:00 PM
Yea, the berms on the mtx course are like 10 feet high.... atleast. The doubles are pretty big to.

oscerthegrouch
05-26-2005, 09:53 PM
lol i wont have a problem doing most things on the coarse.... my BMX DJ backround keeps me going on bigger jumps and im pretty smooth from that...DH bikes dont hold speed as well as a hardtail btw so it would be easyer for me to jump things... but out on the DH coarse you will all kick my ass and leave me in the dust... and i cant wait to hit the skatepark looks better then the one we got localy.

You are probably gonna want a full suspension on the downhill course, those trails are rough. They are very rocky, rooty, and muddy as crapp. (Atleast after it rains.)

05-30-2005, 08:39 PM
Haha just got back from Snowshoe!!!!!!!!! The place is better than ever! The MTX course is pretty mellow this year, but there is a triple that was basically impossible. The freeride park was off the hook as well. And for the Western Territory, well, that was insane. All of the new trails are top-notch, and absolutely DH bike trails. Nothing else. Definitely try to hit Hairball when yur up there. And the Powerline trail is gonna be sooooo schweet! I think that that place doubled my skills over the weekend without a doubt.

motomike
05-30-2005, 08:40 PM
And for oscer, if you ride that hardtail up there, you're gonna get dominated. There is no such thing as "picking lines" on those trails.

oscerthegrouch
05-30-2005, 08:45 PM
HAHA I dont doubt it on the trails one bit...but on the mountain x coarse and powerline I wont be dominated...Inless they put a rock garden in the middle of eather.

I bottomed out that rental stinky the orange one on the mtx course.

haromtnbiker
05-31-2005, 03:03 PM
My feet slipped off the pedals going to fast over a double, and I kept going straight up the berm and fell off the other side. (On the orange rental stinky) I want to rent the new one (05') or a bighit, cause I dont like quick releases on downhill bikes. (04' Stinky has them)

yes, I did. The course was new and pretty choppy. Still alot of work to do to it. I was just blown away at the length of the thing. By the bottom, you will be exhausted for sure. I'm working on be there for Monster Park, but not the camp.
