ok, so here are the parts.

Fork: 05 Zoch 888rc
Frame: 04 Turner DHR
e-thirteen reducer cups
FSA Orbit IS.

When fully assembled, there is a slight gap between the lower crown race and the the bottom face of the bearings of the headset...about 2-3mm. the race does fit into the bearings tight. I also have 2@10mm spacers between the top of the headset and the underside of the upper factory crowns on the 888. they are located there due to the integrated stem.

...the fork feels a bit tight..but i'm more concerned over the gap down near the lower race.....

..any thoughts folks..

thanks.
Bill.

I had the same problem when using a Cane Creek race/bearings and e-13 cups. About a 2-3mm gap. I showed the set-up to both e-13 and Cane Creek last year at Mount Snpw and they both said that is was fine as long as you're getting good contact and preload with the bearings. It held up fine for me last season without any problems. I still feel a little uneasy seeing the gap, though. All the other set-ups that I've come across (e-13 with CC and FSA) appear to have this little gap. I hope this helps.

Is your lower bearing cup pressed all the way down on the steerer?

I thought of trying to fine a small o-ring or gasket to fill up the space but never got around to it. It would have to be thin enough not to affect the bearing/race interface and headset preload. Just an idea.

yep, i tried a few gaskets, but like you said..they were not small enough, so it looked as though it would interfere.

Anyway, yall have been great with the replies...It appears to hook up correctly..I can live with the looks weird thing.

thanks again..
Bill.
