Ole Transcend Mag says he cased a jump or something at a photoshoot in the UK, for the UK show. Ironic thing is last year we had to make all our riders goto that show (since GT and Goose only sell a decent amount of bikes in that country) and EC and the rest did not want to ever go because they "didnt wanna risk getting hurt at some dumb photo shoot or something".

WOW....I haven't laughed that hard in a LONG TIME!!!! Thanks Fraser.

Hey Stik, I actually read that blurb on MBA's site first...the same day I read that Armstrong mysteriously showed up for a local road race at the very last minute..said nothing...raced...got in the car and just left???

I was super disappointed by Carter getting hurt 9still my favorite all time slalom rider) and numbed by the X-Files siting of Armstrong...

Yeah, I think I heard it was on MBA too, but I hardly count them as a news source...was expecting the Carter story to be on velosnooze or something.

This is a Lance free zone by the way...no stinking up the forums with his name.

It could be worse. At least he did it riding his bike.
He could have broke his leg riding around on a golf cart. ;)

i think it was a great story about lance.

We will never know why Lance showed up. But the town of Ojai and the young cyclists of Ojai will never forget what happened today. At one moment the announcer said, “Garrett would be loving this right now. Lance Armstrong racing in his hometown.” A silence fell over the crowd and for a moment, the town of Ojai, CA remembering one of its brightest stars who lost his life racing bicycles, was the center of the professional cycling world. Lance crossed the finish line in 15th place, got in his car driven by Sheryl Crow and drove off. No team vans, no bodyguards, no television cameras. It was simply a bike race, held in honor of a young cylclist who lost his life racing bicycles from a town of only 8,000 people. A bike race that the town of Ojai and the friends and family of Garrett Lemire will surely never forget.

Yeah, i talked to him at fontucky. He said it was after the photshoot on the way back to the car. He hit a jump and the wind blew him sideways a little bit. He clipped out but i guess his foot just snagged the ground or something. He didnt even fall just the pure force at the right place snapped his foot. He was in a pretty knarly cast so im not sure about the length till hes back. Hopefully hell get riding soon. Definetely not a good time to get injured like that.

A lot of riders break their feet, some of us don't idolize racers or just aren't that tied to racing that they feel it's significant. It means a lot more to me if someone I know breaks their foot obviously, but apart from those that I know that do such a thing (like acadian, who has come back amazingly), it doesn't really concern me at all.
