I got a free day Saturday. The trails are wet, so it was a road ride or nothing. The weather called for partly to mostly sunny skies and a high of 75. I set out about 9, only to find a damp mist and threatening sky out there.

The mist was the kind that will get you wet if you stay in it, so I got wet.

Fortunately it never turned to rain, and I went ahead with the planned ride, which took me down the river floodplain to the Congaree river where I took a look a the boat ramp. Lots of water in there.

Lots of boats in that water too, although I didn't see them. Not my gig, but not a bad way to spend a day either.

Fifty five miles in it was lunch time. Mmmmmoonpie!

After lunch the sun finally broke through.

Felt damn good to be out of the knee warmers.

Somewhere about here I was fiddling with the camera and it went off. Best pic I took all day I think.

Here's my trusty steed on a bridge somewhere about mile 70. The culvert was just full of barn swallows as they kept flying in and out, but getting a picture of a barn swallow in flight is more difficult than you might think. Or maybe not.

And finally home sweet home. Another century in the books.
