I guess it makes sense though. If the answer is "ghosts aren't real, and your girlfriend is an idiot" you know what the next question is going to be...
Boo!

What a bunch of wack-jobs. And we think that the Stone Age tribes of some south Pacific islands have some primitive and superstitious beliefs.

what about the holy ghost?
ok, let's see how far you go with this spirit stuff:
- do you believe you have a spririt dwelling within you?
- if so, do you believe this spirit can have a manifestation which interacts w/ your conscious?
- do you have spirit-based beliefs or un-beliefs based in what you would call evidence or fact?

I was poking around looking for an unrelated press release, and that just happened to be on the front page.

1. No
2. N/A
3. Everything learned in cognitive science and biology. I can't prove a negative, but there is no evidence that evil spirits affect our bodies. We've come a long way from mental illness being caused by demons, thankfully.

I'd actually say that is where spirituality came from.
Religion got invented when a medicine man realized he could do his schtick with the spirits for a living until statistics got invented.
Q."HEY MIKE! I’m not the most popular guy in school. Is there anything wrong with this?
—Name Withheld "
A."NO! In fact, playing the popularity game often does more harm than good, causing otherwise smart teens to make some pretty dumb choices: lowering standards, compromising values, hurting others, taking stupid risks."
BAH-HUMBUG... what a dork. :blah:

Good stuff here, subtle dig, defending your self with class.
Your sedition quote was more of a private joke, I had a professor in college who hated the Sedition Act with a passion.
If you CLICK (http://academic.evergreen.edu/curricular/dissent/description.htm)
here, third paragraph mentions the sedition Act.
You would enjoy arguing with Jose Gomez, he makes me look like a Neo-con.
In honor of the Sedition Act and you I'll quote your post for another day, then back to my standard sig.
