Given that the UN has authorised a full investigation, promising no diplomatic immunity, over the Oil for Food program corruption, what shoudl the White House do about this?

The Coalition Provisional Authority, the US-led agency that ran Iraq after the fall of Saddam Hussein, has been accused of wasting millions of dollars.

Speaking to a Senate panel, former CPA official Franklin Willis said the processes for handling contractors were as chaotic as the Wild West.

I think the White house has a much better idea: Ignore it until it stops being reported. Standard operational procedure.

Yeah I have a job, but my taxes are filed under my mom's name, so even though i make 7 dollars an hour i get taxed as if i were making 170K a year. Dont ask me why but that how my Dad set it up for some stupid reason. I dont know much about the tax code other than it was really complicated when the lady *tried* to explain it to me.

Ugh,
I s'pose that there might be some validity to the ending statement in the story that accounting on a level we are used to with programs in the US is pretty tough to achieve in the midst of a war. There is similar stuff going on with the aid going to SE Asia.

That said we should be doing everything we can to ensure the money is going to the right places. Errors are probably going to happen, but if evidence is found of actual corruption then those responsible should be held to task for it.

Why didn't you just file for an exemption? Meh.

Are you working at Sun Valley this summer or something? I think I may...
