Don't be so sure......I haven't ridden much at all this winter. I would suggest you keep it kind of flat and drop me with your big gears. :-)

Since its a mid week holiday somethign of the long variety is what i was thinking. Im not sure what fort ebey is. Can you describe.....

You can find Fort Ebey descriptions on Dirtworld, MTBR, and BBTC websites.
It's scenic shoreline riding about halfway up Whidbey island and usually in the rainshadow and drier than surrounding areas.
A nice ride with some Lake Sawyeresque trail mazes and plenty o' roots.
Short climbs and great winter views.(Especially the Bluff Trail)
It would be a bit of a haul for you coming from the South. But, no more than ACFL farther North.

Okay, meeting at Tacoma Performance at 10am.....waiting 15 minutes then we're heading to...so on the road by 10:15am. Not sure what time that would put us at the trailhead.
