last I remember you had to make a small dimple on the seat tube so the resevior would clear...D

On a Yeti DH9? Couldn't you just flip the shock so the resi faced the other way, or would that put a dent in the down tube on compression?
i'm sure that would just put in big dint in the down tube, does anyone no if you have to mod a yeti to put a 6-way swinger in it?

I don't think so. The 6-way and 4-way should have the same dimensions and Yeti stocked the 4-way in 04 on the DH9s. After you mount up the shock, rotate the eccentric link and see if the resivior will hit the seat tube.

I don't think the 4-way has an external resevoir though, which is the issue with the clearance.
the 4 way does have an external reservior, could some of you do me a massive favour and measure the length of the reservoir on the side away from the shock body on a 4 way swinger and a 6 way swinger, that would let me know if i could fit one, cheers very much

Without measuring... I'm pretty sure (>99%) that they are the same. Yeti didn't stock the 6-way (nor does Specialized anymore) due to leaky compression valves and they don't see the cost to value ratio being high enough to warrant the cost. They did not not stock it due to size.
