Can you mix various viscosities? Like 10w-40 and SAE 30???? I was just wondering cause my dad is gone for the week but the MOPAR is low on oil, and I don't want to go get a quart of stuff just so it's the same.

I've mixed weights before w/no noticable ill affects. I always just assumed that you would end up with the average of the two weights (assuming equal parts of course).

I've heard people say not to but they never have a good reason as to why...

I've mixed before also with no probs. I try not to make a habbit of it and will only mix when I know i'm changing the oil within the next week or so.

Mixing is kewl as a temp fix. But you might not want to mix natural w/ synthetics tho. Things might get a bit weird there.

Mixing viscosities is fine as long as you don't go outside the recommended range. Mixing natural and synthetics is usually fine too. But never mix different brands of synthetics. If you want to change brands of synthetic oils you need to do an oil change with dinosaur oil between.

You can do that. I run only Syn in my truck. Every bottle says "You can mix syn oil with any other oil, syn or not."

Oh, and MOPAR don't go far :D
