Does anyone here own a set? I have an opportunity to get some at a really good price so I was wondering if anyone has any experience with them. I was told by the Spinergy rep that the hubs were from Hadley and the rims from Sun...so they sound like they would last a good long time....D

sorry but I have never had good luck with Mavics so I started using Sun rims and no problems at all. Wierd thing is I have a ton of riding buddies on Mavic and they have no problems...D

sadly not, dont have time to try hunting (major stressing about exams, hence hwy i'm on the internet.......doh!).

I can remember there being loads of photos of new (at the time) turners with them on, and then a quick slating of the wheels soon afterwards when i asked about them.

exept those spokes/hubs look to be straight-pull. Rim may possibly be different too, wish they had some close-ups.

Spinergy is a pain in the @$$ to find parts for and are hart to service. I dont have any experience with the Dee-Max but My Cross-Max have the same kind of spokes and each broken spoke is $4.00+ but they run super smooth.

If I buy the wheelset it comes with 5 extra spokes and it uses a standard drilled rim so once the rims are buggered you can just buy any other rim you want...D

only if the spoke length required is in the same region though.....

they can be cut and re-threaded....D

i would check that out first. isn't the "PBO fibre" something along the lines of kevlar?

i'd like to see you rethread a spoke thats too short though ;)

i rode them on a spinergy employees uzzi slx no issues with them. they didn't feel any different than the wheels i had on my bike. I was told that hadley on makes the freewheel, the spokes are the same as used on their mx bike wheels, and the rim is a mag 30. If you'r gettin a good deal on'em, I say go for it.

I ridden and serviced lots of the spinergy road and mountain wheels, none of the DH wheels though. They don't really feel any different. They are trueable, but it is a PITA. You will NEVER break a spoke.
If you can get a good deal, I think they would be worth a try.
