no, it's a 3/8" dropout. It's heavy enough as it is. I was seriously considering a Funn but my friend already had this one.

Here's my Planet-X Ridgeback. I use it mainly for urban and skateparks - about the only things I would change on the bike would be 24" wheels for the parks and knocking the fork down to around 100mm of travel.

nice park.
in the first pic you flipped the eta on your z1, right?
that's what i'm beginning to do when riding street on my park.
if that's how you're using it, has it held up?
jnapier
03-15-2005, 03:33 PM
Yeah, I was using the ETA, but I just use it for riding to places ( about 2-5 mile away) with my seat up so it doesn't bob up and down, and it's easier to pedal. Usually I use it without the ETA.

That snow pile is what is lining my entire driveway. It's actually down to 6' of snow from the 9' of a few weeks ago. Obviously the Ridge hasn't seen anything but driveway time but it seems to handle great.

Chromag Gypsy
This bike is SWEET. Care to elaborate on it? I was briefly considering a Chromag TRL, but my budget wouldn't cooperate.
Its very similar to the TRL.
Same tubeset, same weight, and a geometry that is trail-born. The main difference is a shorter seattube and more standover clearance for dirtjumping and bx style riding. A tall guy who climbs would probably get the TRL but alot of average height riders use the Gypsy as an allrounder...

rpk1988
05-15-2005, 08:55 PM
Still torn about the fork. I am buying a new headset soon which will prob be the Pig. Haha. Then a bash guard. And I was thinking about getting the holy rollers but I might just go with the High Rollers. That DJ3 looks nice, maybe I will get it. But I still like the Sherman.
arboc!
05-15-2005, 09:22 PM
the pig is good, i like the fork, but with high rollers and a sheman sounds like your going for more of a freeride hardtail then a dj, the dj3 is deffenatly good for dj, and the price is right. those sherman forks are pretty spendy. if you want a sherman better get it quick, i read they werent going to make them next year.
rpk1988
05-15-2005, 09:26 PM
True, but I wont be paying full price for one. I heard if you get a DJ, get the DJ1. Yea I could be going more for a FR HT but I mostly ride urban. I just want the travel to be there if I ever go DHing or something. Who knows. The Sherman is pretty sweet though. I would prob be on the 110mm setting the most.

I just replaced the oil and wiper seals with Enduro's (http://www.enduroforkseals.com/id20.html) ( that's my fork as the 30mm kit poster boy :D ) and the fork works as well or better than the day it come over from Italy. It's a bit of a pain having to do 8 bolts for the axel - especially since I have to take the front wheel off every time I rack it - but other than that I  the fork. CNC'ed goodness.

People keep asking me when the Bike Porn will be updated. Well, a little shameless self promotion here, but my new bike porn gallery is up! There's already almost 50 bikes in there, with room for a thousand more. You can upload as many photos of your bike as you want, any kind of bike (not just hardtails!). You can search for bikes by features and uses, and sort them by popularity if you want. Users can rate the bikes and leave comments for the owners. Pretty cool huh? Let me know what you think!

are there dos rear brakeos on that beast?
What In Spanish O Ingles...!?!?
No the rear brake is not done so far because I'm still trying to figure out the best way to mount it,,
take into account the rear rack so i can not really place the caliper on the top (convensional placement)
for the brake levers I figure out a way to run the two of them at ones.
http://patineto.smugmug.com/photos/25647208-M.jpg
so i can actuate one or the other or the TWO of them at the same time if i need to.
like in this case just the front hydrolics
http://patineto.smugmug.com/photos/25648024-M-1.jpg
the C-2 Hope master cilinder are great because two things.
*I can place them Upside down since is a close sistem with out a broblem or any air getting into the sistem
.
*I can varie the amount of fluid pressure using the silver knob that basically compress and decompress (controls) the amount of fluid inside the sistem.
http://patineto.smugmug.com/photos/25647986-M-3.jpg
so i can run the Hope's with No drag (when I'm on the street or just riding around) and then bring the Brakes to full power by increassing the fluid pressure at the levers adjuster when the downhil comes to play.
this bike is so much Fun is not even funny,,,sorry for the Pun.

How do you like those Cane Creek wheels?
How do you like those Cane Creek wheels?
plenty stiff and they track well - rear hub isn't the quickest to engage though. But for the price I got them for - they work great! :thumb:

Heres my IH Yakuza.. 1st bike ive owned in almost 10 yrs. started out with something cheap to see if i still liked riding. Just threw on the 03 slider tpc with DT hub. Im diggin the stiffness of the dual crown, I think its fitting for the hardtail. So far its a perty kick as all around bike, mostly urban and jumping. Added the e 13 srs too. 8" hayes mechs, gonna swap shifter and levers soon. Ill upgrade as I see needed. I plan on getting one of the new Soul Cycle's thats coming out soon.
mosplat, that park bike looks great! What fork are you running?

hey thanks!
the fork is a sherman jumper.
i bought it from a friend who i believe got it straight from manitou,
so he was able to get the uncommon grey lowers.
i used to consider myself a zokie man,
but this fork feels pretty great.
