Could anyone tell me what bracket i need to mount this on my 02 specialized bighit? I keep seeing this "E-type" bracket but i am not sure if i need it. any help would be great.....LINK:http://store.airbomb.com/ItemDesc.asp?IC=CH1240

this should work. Id go with a TV box guide on that bike.

e-type derailleurs mount between the bb cup and the bb shell (as opposed to clamping onto the seattube). so if you're running an e-type derailleur, you'll need the e-type backplate.

Exactly.....E-type bolts on instead of clamping on the frame. If you had a DH bike with no f.derailer then an E-type is one of your few choices.

If on your big-hit you are already running a f.derailer than jsut get a std dual ring that eliminates the upper part for an E-type to bolt on to.

Match your crank arm and chain ring tooth size requirement and have fun. The guides come with instructions for mounting on a ISCG tab and a std BB so whatever you have will work.
