I have a 2003 Manitou Sherman Slider and it rides great and everything but it's not as stiff as I would like. The compression adjustment makes it a little stiffer but is this all the compression adjustment is doing? Is it actually reducing my travel? If it is how so because the adjustment is in the opposite leg of where the spring is?

Thanks (IM SOOO CONFUSED!!!!! about this compression adjustment!!! HELP!!)

Get stiffer spring. Compression/preload adjustments are for fine-tuning.

Have you tried downloading the manual from the Answer site? Read it.

Compression adjust doesn't change your travel. It makes it slightly slower under compression. It's no substitute for a proper spring rate. Buy a heavier spring.
