DHF Ti 7
Just tuning it for my wieght. Test rode it today and found it was a little soft. Added 5/8" preload to the spring and it seems to be better.

That's a nice disco..!
Seems to be a pretty well balanced setup to me. The avys =.

Yeah, - I think it is a good idea to have the 7" fork on so you still have a low and mean racing machine.

Sweet ride, how much do you weigh? I was going to get the 8" Ti version, but got talked into the dual damper one.

I wiegh 185 ish. Right on the wieght limit. The bike sits around 45 ish. I was running a Dorado before, there is no wieght difference. The Avy is much stiffer though and feels much more sure footed. I thought the Dorado was great! The Avy blew my mind on my initial test ride yesterday!
The bike is a good balance. The tires are heavy, but they have sidewalls like iron! So I balance that out with light tubes..

I'm 190 so it was just a hair above the max for the Ti.

Yeah, - but if mikedee69 is running about 45% sag...then I think it is the abosolute limit.
mikedee69
11-21-2004, 01:46 PM
Naw, I run about 2.5" sag in the back. It's set up for 9.5" ish. Not sure about the front. I meant the bike wieghs about 44.5 to 45 lbs. It's a decent rolling wieght.

I kind of want to sell it.. my MRP does work fine. It is a tad old however. I've been getting killed in the bank account, so I'm tryin to let go of whatever parts I have.

To tell the truth I was a little sceptical when I first bought it. Then I rode it. It was a blast. Higher bottom bracket and lighter than my Turner. I plan to continue to ride it for a while yet. Solid bike.
As for the Gizmo, I just bolted it on and everything cleared. It is a 118mm BB I'm using. The Blackspire I bought before didn't fit at all, I was bitter.

Its hard to buy one now with all thats happened to Karpiel, especially in the last 6 months. They are great riding bikes though.

I'm very happy with my machine. That DHF 8 looks pretty sweet against the white amry too though.
What is the deal with Karpiel now. I read a while back his company was in recievership or something.

I do not know the exact weight, but it is heavy. But still feels lighter than my previous Monster 03.

Whistler's long since closed for Moutain Biking :( it is however open to skiing :) ..
The The North Shore has much snow and ice onthe trails :( and it's really wet everywhere else. Mud makes it fun, like surfing, kinda...
