I tried my first Pilates class last night, this was with floor mats not equipment. Not sure what I thought of hit, some of it was too easy and some very tough. Does anyone here take these classes and if so please tell me about there effectiveness... to me it seemed a lot like Yoga.. what are the different benefits etc.. thanks.

Rach, never took a Pilates class, but I hear they are excellent for improving overall fitness.

my GF had to take Pilates after she broke her leg (in 5 places) and had a metal rod inserted.
It worked REAL well for her.
They used machines though.
Works the Abs, Butt, and legs (and more depending on specific routine)
I think the best part is that (for girls) it TONES instead of building bulk.
