Hey all,

Well so far it looks as though James(jimbothebiker), my buddy, and myself are confirmed riders for tomorrow's ride at Ranger creek. We are wanting to shuttle it twice and so far we have two trucks, a third vehicle/fourth rider would make it perfect for us to shuttle the trail twice.

I just called the forest department in Enumclaw to verify 7174 is open and she said its good to go. She mentioned a couple of inches of snow at the very top but who cares, we can make it interesting for the top 10% because the lower 90% is going to be a blast.

If you are intersted, we are shooting for a 10am meeting time at enumclaw safeway/starbucks.

The more the marrier, I can take someone else in my truck and I think James can take another guy so we could possibly have a party of 5 with two trucks. If your willing to drive then we can do the trail twice and open the rider list to maybe 7 guys as I think 7 is max we can fit in one vehicle?

Anyhow, this is the confirmation post for tomorrow's ride.

2 confirmed here!

I'm in for sure. I've got an extended cab truck, but the backseats aren't really designed for adults. It would work though. I'll try to clean em out a bit in the morning. I've got junk back there right now. haha. I'll see if I can get a bike rack too.
As for the top 10% of the trail up there, I doubt the snow will be too bad. Even if it is, walking the first bit is well worth it for the descent that follows it.

Well...hopefully we can get another driver too so we can shuttle it twice. If not, once is still better than nonce and if we have extra energy maybe skookum would be fun, not sure though with the 40lb bikes...? Come on DBR, you don't have anything to do ;)

Shuttling once + skookum is a good combo. My bike weighs 38lbs, and I've never done skookum on a different bike. Two shuttle runs would be pretty sweet though.

Shuttling 2 times is IDEAL but if we get in just one run that's cool. Maybe we can park one car at the bottom of skookum and one at the top to avoid the long gradual uphill back on the non creekside. Never ridden it though.

The last time I shuttled that area, we parked one vehicle at the bottom of FS-73 at the skookum flats trailhead, and the rest up at the top of 7174 at that trailhead. Then we just crossed the highway at camp sheppard and did skookum flats backwards... which means more downhill than uphill. Still takes a bit o' pedalling, but not too bad.
